Kay Albiani, President of the Board of Governors of the California Community Colleges from November 2006 to January 2008, was named National Community College Trustee of the Year
“I am so delighted that Kay Albiani was chosen as the most outstanding trustee in the country by the American Association of Community Colleges Trustees,” said Chancellor Diane Woodruff. “She has shown strong, courageous leadership as the President of the Board of Governors, the President of the California Community College Trustee Association, and the President of the Board of the Los Rios Community College District. She is an extraordinary leader and she is so deserving of this award.”
Albiani, appointed by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger to the Board of Governors in 2004, was also named Trustee of the Year for ACCT’s Western Region. She has served on the Los Rios Community College District Board of Trustees since 1996.
Albiani received this prestigious award at a national ceremony in New York City on October 31.
